Zune 2.1 Firmware Download

Hi, First of all, I want to thank Jazzfan80, TheEvilLightBulb, Ferrango, LEK09-03, mcKaskie, and any other users who have helped in this thread. This is a guide that I basically took from Jazzfan80’s post and updated it so that other users get clearer instructions with the updated answers/replies from his post. In this post I will cover the way I was able to update my Zune firmware (one is easier than the other, thanks to mcKaskie) and I have confirmed that both of these steps do work with my Windows 7 and 10 computers. Note some of these steps you can skip but I wanted to show what I did to get my resolution and I hope this helps!

Zune 4.0 also supports internet radio streams but this feature is disabled by default and can only be enabled by a third-party patch. This was the first firmware released for the Zune line which did not provide new features for older Zune models. These models were given a firmware update with version 3.2.

• Do not connect your Zune device to the computer yet • Download and Install the Zune Player software () • Download the “Zune Firmware.RAR” these files are already modified from Jazzfan80’s onedrive () • Download “Abyss Web Server X1” server software from Aprelium and install - it’s a free server software. () • Download and install WinRAR program to extract “Zune Firmware.RAR”. () • Once extracted, copy the “Firmware” Folder and paste it into “C: Abyss Web Server htdocs” • Editing HOSTS file: a. Run notepad as an ADMIN b. Locate and open “hosts” file (located at “C: Windows System32 drivers etc” c. Input '136.62.72.125 resources.zune.net' which will point your host file to mcKaskie’s server d. Save the modification in the “hosts” file.

NOTE: Even on 64-bit systems, ensure you open the System32 folder and NOT “SysWOW64” • Flushing the DNS Cache: a. Run Command Prompt as an ADMIN b.

Zune

Input the command “ipconfig /flushdns” c. Hit the 'Enter' key and it'll flush the DNS Cache. Flush the DNS cache 2-3 times, since I saw multiple replies that stated that at first, the firmware didn’t update till they flush the DNS 2-3 times. • Updating your Zune Device: a. Plugin your Zune Device via USB b. Open the Zune player, click on your Zune device on the player and sync, which should automatically start update your device!

Hopefully this helps you guys and it was successful! I followed all of these steps exactly and I keep getting met with an error message whenever I open the Zune software. Free download neurology img friendly residency programs list programs 2017. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I've tried locally hosting the firmware files provided on an Abyss Server and using the ip address provided in both this opening post and the one in the comments.

I've flushed the dns multiple times, but I still can't get the software to apply the firmware. EDIT: I figured out the problem. When using the local server method, if Skype is active, traffic to port 80 gets stopped.

When I disabled Skype, i was able to unbrick the Zune. So happy to have my old friend back and running.
