Install Windows Mobile 7 Samsung Omnia 2

Hello, I would appreciate any hints on how to fix this issue: I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate 64Bit (German) (with Windows Mobile Device Manager 6.1 /64Bit and the driver uptade) and I'm trying to connect a Samsung Omnia II I8000 phone using USB. Symptoms: Samsung says: Connected with USB Default Windows Device Manager does show a Mobile Device 'Samsung MITs USB Sync' (all OK) and a 'Windows Mobile-based device' (yellow sign, can' start device (Code 10)) Eventlog shows an Error 'RapiMgr - Windows Mobile-based device failed to connect due to communication (0x80072745) failure (see data for failure code).' Changing the settings on the mobile from 'ActiveSync' to 'Mass storage' lets me connect the device without error, but doesn't work with the WMDM. ActiveSync - 'advanced networking' isn't activated. Activating 'advanced networking' does create the same device 'Windows mobile-based device' with the error and replaces the 'Samsung MITs USB Sync' with 'Microsofts Windows Mobile Remote Adapter' An online driver update doesn't help. (most recent driver installed) A test with a 32Bit-Vista Ultimate replaces the 'Windows Mobile-based device' with a funtioning 'GT-I8000'.
On 32Bit, WMDM does work with the Omnia II. Unfortunately, the PC I need to connect to is 64Bit. I tried installing WMDM with and without connected phone. I tried installing Samsungs software 'New PC suite' and 'Kies' and searched them for USB-Drivers. Same result I contacted Samsung support: They told me to use MS WMDM in the 64Bit-Version and it' s a Microsoft problem. No help there.
The Samsung Omnia i900 can be imported from Smart-Mobile-Gadgets for $709.99. That is the lowest price I could find as of the date of this review. That is the lowest price I could find as of the. If you have any one of the popular Windows Phone and want to try out something new, then check out the new ready to install cooked ROMs of Windows Mobile 6.5 Build 23409, which are now available for a variety of popular Windows Mobile based handsets listed below.
Comparing the registry entries I see on the 32Bit the Driver version '6.1.6965.0' and on 64Bit '6.0.6001.18000'. Could this be the cause? Is there an update missing on Vista 64? Hello, looks like I've found a solution (or a workaround at any rate) I've returned the Omnia II to the shop and picked up an 'old' HP Ipaq 114 with Windows Mobile 6 to check whether it's a problem of my Vista 64 and Windows Mobile 6.5. To my horror and frustration, the Ipaq produced the same error.

I've checked the following options: - all the procedures as described in tis thread. - uninstall of WMDM and deletion of%systemroot% WindowsMobile-folder. Reinstall of WMDM - unistall of WMDM and install of WMDM 6 (instead of 6.1) - I've tried to force the update of the driver for the windows mobile-based device by copying the relevant INF-File to the desktop and selecting this INF as the source for the update.
Tema keren untuk windows 7. However, it is advised to let it be default only.
Message: Not a certified driver (something like this in german) So something was wrong with my Vista and I couldn't fix it. Finally, late in the night, I bought a Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit at the MS-Shop, downloaded it and installed Windows 7 (I had my user-directories on a drive different than the systemroot. So I ha to move these first, befor I was able to upgrade. Thanks MS for these additional hours of the night.) After the installation of Windows 7, I plugged in the IPAQ and what a surprise: I could watch Windows 7 downloading the driver and installing the correct device in the device manager. WMDM startet, recognized the device and now I can sync like ____!
Next step: Send back the IPAQ and get an Omnia II Greetings Uwe.
