Mcintosh Amp Serial Numbers
On mine the serial number is left out of the standard product info label and is instead printed off to left side of it. Mine are number 107 and 108. I have been told that some of the early McIntosh amps started their labeling at 101 instead of 01 but I can find no one at McIntosh that can confirm this is the case with mine. These amps are in museum condition and I believe are some of the finest condition 1960’s McIntosh tube amps anywhere. Consecutive serial numbers (327 & 328). This is a true matched pair of monoblocks that have been together since day 1.

Also, although the amp was recapped, this was nearly 18 years ago! It may very well need some components replaced for optimal performance. This is a vintage piece of equipment, and unless specifically noted above, it has not been fully restored with new components. It will inevitably need maintenance, however it's impossible to know whether that will be next week or a few years down the road. Unless you are capable of doing this work yourself (or have access to someone who can), we suggest you revisit the idea of whether this is the right equipment for you. I really love my Audio Note Meishu SET amp, and that sound, and now I'm interested in really getting acquainted with a classic push-pull tube amp and branching out. So here's my questions: 1) In carefully reviewing stuff in these Forums and other sources, I believe the McIntosh MC240 would be the best initial fit for me. In my SET system I have that 'spooky real' midrange that I understand the MC240 can give but with the beef of push-pull. But this is just my guess based on what I'm reading.do people have other suggestions for amps I should consider?
