Establishing themselves in 1997, INTERPOL is one of the most renowned American post-punk bands to have arisen. Throughout the band's career they released four studio albums between 2002-2010, including 'Turn On The Bright Lights', 'Antics', 'Our Love To Admire' and their most recent self titled album 'Interpol'.
Singer Paul Banks' baritone voice and the atmospheric guitars creates the band's distinct sound, which has been comparable with JOY DIVISION, ECHO AND THE BUNNYMEN and THE SMITHS. Interpol exploded with passion into the New York City indie music scene, and was one of several groups that emerged out of the post-punk revival of the 2000s. Their spare, lean textures, darkly oblique lyrics and suave stage presence were entirely different from the bands who preceded them on the charts and the radio, and their sound was distinguished. In celebration of their 10TH ANNIVERSARY, the band is now re-releasing their acclaimed debut album 'Turn On The Bright Lights'. Now fully remastered as a 10TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION, in a beautiful DELUXE HARDBOUND BOOK with UNRELEASED PHOTOS (48 pages in the CD, 28 large pages in the vinyl), A SECOND DISC OF 17 EXTRA SONGS including bonus tracks (many unreleased), 4 UNRELEASED DEMOS and 8 B-SIDES. The BONUS DVD includes all 3 music videos from the album and 2 live shows from the Mercury Lounge (May, 2000) and The Troubadour (Sep, 2002).

It’s hard to believe that 10 years have passed since the release of Interpol’s Turn on the Bright Lights, an album which at first seemed just a member of the pack of rock revivalists but which in time has become seen as a classic of the era. The songs have been cleaned a bit, with the vocals more clearly coming through the deep drive of songs like “PDA,” for instance. This release is also a chance to pick it up on vinyl, if you’re so inclined to have it (I know I am!). A second disc includes “Specialist,” a B-side strong enough to have made the album, plus demos versions of songs from the first and second Interpol albums and one that previously went unreleased songs as well. A DVD includes Interpol’s early music videos and live cuts from the early ’00s.
