My husky is refusing to start with FAIL appearing and staying on the computer! In the manual they say it is a fuel injection problem - has anyone else encountered this problem or something similar? Does the bike need to plugged into some software for a 'health-check'? Where is the best place to go- I live in Bude! THANKS _____.

Only 1 bad Robo, depending on the brand - access to tuning software not for performance - just basic fault finding & resetting of sensors. The Husky software is available, but you pretty much need to get it O`S. If you can beg, borrow, steal it & know someone with the right ability you can download all the paramiters & test/rectify nearly everything with a multi-meter. As they get a little older & things like throttle shafts & bushes/housings wear they will have a few issues with consistency in TPS settings. Won`t be a drama for those with mech aptitude or $$ to throw at servicing. Apart from that - everything else is brilliant.

You get to feel superior to ya pleb mates with their carby fed bikes and it gives you a licence to endlessly rave on about how good it is and how you would never go back to a carby setup. I dunno really, that's just a stab in the dark. Started on EFI in the 80`s in my apprenticeship, did all the Bosch courses & advanced crap, dyno & fast stuff!!! I went back to a carb:) the bike EFI stuff is too basic & a good carb is as good if not better (than the current offerings) it will improve though. Problem is cost!!!! I could have set up a 3D map/ECU & software - but you`re looking around 6 - 9K, like that`s gonna happen:(.

I am not liking the sounds of this.it gives me the impression that the major problems that could occur with EFI bikes will not surface for some time then what.

It`ll be more noticeable in long term stuff, if you only keep em a couple of years you wouldn`t have any real dramas, carbs wear the shafts & housings too, a big problem for inconsistency in tune, it`s just with the EFI all the settings play up because of it.

Where as with a carb it`s mainly idle & low speed - once the butterfly is fully open there isn`t as much vacuum at the shaft drawing unmetered air. Common theme seemed to be lack of throttle response, maybe they should all be riding big bore 2 smokers sounds like they all like a throttle hit.Lack of throttle response???????? You must be kidding, that would have to be one of the biggest points why I love FI. You can peg it at any time in any point in the rev range and it responds instantly and cleanly, no bogging it just pulls. The only real negative I have with it is the lack of a reserve. The gasser has a fuel light but it comes on too early to be of much use.
